Sending personal effect/belonging to Japan
For smoothly clearance and delivery for a personal effect/belonging shipment into Japan , please learn bellow advice.
Shipper's must fill in Declaration Form during a flight and get an approval stamp from Japan customs on arrival in Japan.
It is necessary to send us those original Declaration Form and a passport copy with entrant's photo and immigration stamp to verify entry into Japan to apply for a lower duty and tax as personal effect/belonging, Otherewaise , Japan customs impose 5 percent consumption tax and duty (depends on item ) on CIF value for each item.
Shipper's must follow bellow procedures and provide necessary information as following :
1. Showing '' Unaccompanied Baggage '' on HAWB and Invoice.
2. Showing either '' USED or NEW '' for each item send on the
invoice as additional information.
3. For Medicine, Showing a full name, an ingredient, a purpose of usage on the invoice and attach a doctor's prescription to know if acceptable by Japan customs. This kind of shipment require cnee to get an import license from Government facility named '' Koseisho'' including the medical equipments, and only for personal use(not consigned to company ) in a small quantity can be cleared without the license.
4. For food stuff, ( spice, hurb, a raw coffee, a raw malt ) these kind of items require a quarantine inspection prior to import clearance
if acceptable to import, and it costs cnee at JP 7,500 yen on each HAWB. It also requires cnee to get the import license for all food stuff's
and only for a personal use less than 10 kgs can be cleared without the license.
